The best strategy I've found is to wait until they make a sharp turn where they have to 'skid' to a stop in space before they start moving forward again, that's when you hit them.Ĥ) Trading is dynamic. Since it's possible to strafe in space the enemy uses it making placing shots particularly hard. Hope the 1.3 patch improves this.ģ) Combat *can* be frustrating when you are battling against uber fast ships with this physics engine. Not entirely horrible but could be better. I get about 25-30FPS (my guess) and about 15-20 in heavy battles (10+ ships fighting). With the game at 1024x768 with 2xAA and everything else set on high. Dunno what they should be but I'm runningĪ64 3000 overclocked from 1.8GHz to 2.35GHz Although so far I've noticed the plot requires a bit of fighting (only done 2 'missions' so far) so make sure you're not trying it with a trading ship.ġ) System Requirements. So far I've watched a group of pirates jump into a system and start shooting up the place until the system's patrol could catch them and engage.ħ) You can work on the plot as you like. I think I'll be building my empire for a while.Ħ) Pirates. bwahahahaha!ĥ) LOTS of options of stuff to do and buy. Find a system with no solar power plant but lots of stations? Build one and watch the station pay your prices for power. You can make fat cash selling resources to stations that need the resource. Combat feels a lot more like a regular space sim while still keeping all the physics that make it the X universe.Ĥ) Trading is dynamic. The music is a joy and I don't forsee myself getting tired of it anytime soon.ģ) Combat is still hard but much more enjoyable than X (the original is the only one I owned/played). Half the initial enjoyment is looking at everything.Ģ) Sounds incredible. ![]() Here's my comments thus far.ġ) Very pretty. Ok, I've now had about 5 hours of playtime with this.
